The Norwegian Seafood Council launches new Campaign with Haaland videos
(NORWAY, 11/26/2024)
Seafood ambassador and football star Erling Haaland is featured in the Norwegian Seafood Council’s brand-new videos, that highlight the importance of the origin and the craftsmanship behind seafood from Norway. The videos will be featured in campaigns across many markets and platforms.
In March earlier this year, it was announced that Erling Haaland has signed a deal with the Norwegian Seafood Council. Over the next two years, the football star will be an ambassador for Norwegian seafood – representing the brand Seafood from Norway.
The Norwegian Seafood Council’s latest project with Haaland is a series of brand-new commercials that highlight the importance of the origin and the craftsmanship behind seafood from Norway.
Now, the videos are ready for premiere for the global audience, showing everyone what it means when World-Class Seafood meets a World-Class Footballer.
Haaland-campaigns across different markets
For the premiere of the new films, it was clipfish and stockfish in Portugal and Italy that played the leading role. The goal with the new campaigns in these markets was to inspire consumers and spread both awareness and preference for Norwegian seafood in the coming season. The videos emphasize the Norwegian origin, craftsmanship, and the role of seafood meals in enhancing the atmosphere around the table. It’s simply the story about Norwegian seafood, all the way from sea to table.
In addition, with Haaland the connection to Norway is clear – and his exceptional skills as a powerful striker can be likened to the craft and passion of a master stockfish or clipfish artisan.
– A fantastic seafood ambassador
"Through this video production, we are taking the collaboration with Erling Haaland a step further. He is a fantastic seafood ambassador and was just as professional on the film set as he is on the football field. We are therefore very excited to showcase the result, first in Norway and then with our own media efforts internationally", says Marketing Director Camilla Beck of the Norwegian Seafood Council.
The actual production of the new videos was completed quite fast. Despite the high tempo throughout the shoot, Haaland performed with both calmness and humour during the recordings.
"Whether he was on the pitch with photographers, various assistants and the director, or in the kitchen where both instructions and seafood dishes came in quick succession – he was always patient and very pleasant",says Beck.
Seafood ensures variety and nutrition in Haaland's diet
As a top athlete, it is important to Erling Haaland to both get enough, and the right, nutrition.
– Why is seafood important in your own diet?
"First and foremost, because it ensures variety in my diet. In addition, it is both healthy and good for me", Haaland answers.

Proud of the collaboration
"We are of course very proud of this collaboration with Erling Haaland – it’s no secret that it’s huge for us at the Norwegian Seafood Council that he is now representing Norwegian seafood. The collaboration is simply a very good match, and we’re confident that the new campaigns across our different markets will inspire many to include more seafood in their diet", says Marketing Director Camilla Beck.
